Returning for 2024! You’ll make a hoop-la in your neighbourhood when you hang this unique Winter decoration. The large 36” black metal hoop has a middle hook to hang a 14" moss hanging basket that will be generously filled and designed with drapy mixed evergreens and pinecone accents. Choices to add a small embellishment to the top of the hoop will be offered: bows or elegant evergreens and accents. NEW DESIGN! Using an elegant 10" round, gloss, low white ceramic container, participants will nestle in a beautiful, potted, double spike white orchid. This will be your focal plant that will attract a lot of attention! Then, after adding regular indoor soil mix around the orchid (in it's specialized soil), 5-7 potted seasonal bloomers and foliages will be planted to create a fresh, elegant and long-lasting arrangement. Participants will have choice of potted plants: cyclamen, poinsettia, cypress trees, frosty ferns, norfolk and stone pines, ivy, ferns, kalanchoe, small houseplants and more. A NEW Two Piece Creation! The choice of container will be a rustic wooden crate (13x18x9H, natural tone) that participants fill with freshly cut mixed evergreens and accent with natural elements such as sedum, hydrangea and dogwood. A trip to the "Accent Buffet" will allow participants to choose three additional accents for personalization. Next, participants will design a door swag to match! The same evergreens and accents will be used, arranged in a fan fashion and all tied with a beautiful bow. The two pieces can be used separately or as a combo at the front door. Please allow 2.25 hours for this multiple project workshop. -
Saturday March 28, 1:00 p.m. Pantone has named Cloud Dancer as the Color of the Year for 2026. Described as a soft, airy, and billowy white, this shade is intended to offer a "whisper of calm" and a serene, neutral foundation to combat a chaotic world, emphasizing quiet reflection and intentional simplicity. Participants in this workshop will experience the calm in the creation of a beautiful white and green arrangement in a milky white 10” glass planter. A double stem orchid plant will be the feature and surrounding it will be a selection of white blooming accent plants and soft green foliage. A sweet "tweet" white ceramic bird figurine will be nestled amongst the plants, along with decorative moss. Beautiful! Do note that is workshop has been created in the spirit of the Colour of the Year, there will not be any traditionally “colourful” plants included in this workshop, only tones of white and green. This is an elegant planter for indoor decor, perhaps on a kitchen island or dining table. As always, care, advice and education will be discussed as the group works alongside your host, Vikki and the Design Team. -

Back by popular demand! Winter Gnomes continue to be popular as fun outdoor decor. Using a metal frame, participants will create bundles of fresh evergreens that will attach to the frame, covering the body of the gnome. Layers and layers of evergreens will create a full body (no thin gnomes in this workshop!). A beard will be attached, using Silver Fir, and then his hat, nose and mittens will be affixed. Give your gnome a name before you leave - we'll help you come up with something clever! -

Sunday December 14, 1:00 p.m. We introduced this unique rectangular, metal container last year in green (to private sessions only) and this year we offer it in a rusty retro red and gold colour pallet. It is a beautiful container! Into the floral foam that sits firmly in the pot, participants will design with fresh mixed evergreens, including deluxe varieties like boxwood and arborvitae. To accent, pinecones, berries and light florals will be added, making it an elegant table arrangement. We have only containers available for one session, so don’t miss out! -
NEW SPRING WORKSHOP - YOU CHOOSE YOUR STYLE! Thursday April 02, 6:00 p.m. or Saturday April 04, 10:00 a.m. A classic beige ceramic footed planter is the container in this unique workshop. It is 8" round and 5" tall - perfect for the centre of the Easter table or to give as a beautiful hostess gift. Your choice (upon registration) will be to make your design a planted one featuring potted plants such as calla lilies, ranunculus, ivy, ferns, spring bulbs and more or to make a fresh flower arrangement (in water) with an abundance of cut flower stems such as lisianthus, stocks, spray roses, eucalyptus and more. Your designers will be Vikki for the folks who decide to plant and a certified florist for those who decide to make a fresh arrangement. Both designs will be happening at the same time in each session - it will be fun watching each group be creative! Lots of colour choice for both styles will be offered as well as bonus accents like pussy willows, decorative moss (planted version) and seasonal decor picks. Fall Planter: City House/Country House Sunday September 14, 11:00 a.m. $80.00 + HST You decide the style of outdoor patio planter that suits your home – and then we’ll plant it together! What will look best: a 16” silver tin planter (city) or an 18” plastic wood-look barrel (country)? After a discussion of plant choices, participants will fill their pot with fresh potting soil and choose their favourite seven to eight fall-themed annuals to plant in the container. Choices will include: mums, ornamental grasses, kale and cabbage, rudbeckia, celosia, asters, fall pansies, calluna (heather) and more. Our staff will help you design the best look for your project! A fun decorative pick will complete the project. Please register for the style of planter you like best: city or country. The workshop price for both is the same. -

A FAVOURITE WORKSHOP! A hexagonal 16" tall rustic wooden lantern is this container for this workshop and is offered in ivory or black. Whether you are a returning participant, with previous year's style to re-do, or a new participant who will receive a new lantern, all will be have furniture safe floral dish sitting on the base of the lantern (with fresh floral foam). It will be filled with a fragrant mixed evergreens, pine cones and light floral accents. If the session is in late November, fresh florals will not be used and extra dried accents will decorate the arrangement. The greenery will spill out of the sides of the lantern and gently lay on the table around it. To light up the unit, a beautiful battery-operated LUXE candle will be added. OUR MOST POPULAR WORKSHOP! Our super-popular Evergreen Wreath Workshop is back! Join us to make a lovely 16-18" outdoor wreath on a metal frame (which you will not see when we're done). We offer an abundance of fresh evergreen snipets such as boxwood, oregonia (variegated boxwood), pine, various cedars and silver fir along with accents such as pinecones, blueberry cedar and rosehips. Participants will travel along this Evergreen Buffet to gather up "bundles" that our design team will help you "crimp" onto the frame. The result is a sturdy, lush, fragrant deluxe wreath that will last until about March on your door! This is a wreath for outdoor use. -

This is a workshop where you learn the techniques to create a fresh, new style of outdoor Winter planter: tree-top style. Participants will use a simple black pot (12" diametre) and pop in a 2-3 foot real evergreen tree (cut, not rooted) as the focal point. Then, layers of fresh evergreen boughs are added to the base of the planter to create a "skirt" that is lush and fragrant. Natural accents such as dogwood, pinecones and magnolia leaves are offered along with items from our "Accent Buffet" to create your own, unique masterpiece. Note: this planter can be stand-alone or pop inside another, decorative pot (fits standard urns too). In this workshop you will make ONE planter; if you require a second one, our staff can gather up the materials for you to make another at home or why not register a friend to work alongside you? -

NEW for 2025! This is an indoor potted plant workshop for folks who value houseplants they can grow on after the holidays. In a large 16” long rectangular natural wooden planter (with plastic liner), participants will plant seven seasonal bloomers. Choices will include: cyclamen, poinsettia, lemon cypress, winter berry, calandivia and frosty fern. Amid the arrangement will be a moss nest to sit a waxed amaryllis which will bloom in time for the holidays (fingers crossed, bloom timing is tricky). The final touch will be accents to finish the project to your personalized style, leaning a little to a country chic theme, with pinecones, natural pods and grapevine twists. Colour choices will be offered: white or red blooming amaryllis and then multiple colours of blooming seasonal plants. The sample photo is only one version. You will make your arrangement one-of-a-kind! NOTE as of November 29: We have changed the time of the November 30 session to 1 pm (instead of 10 am), due to forecasted snow in the morning. NEW! Let's design a personalized, creative fully evergreen wreath in a new way! Participants will use a fluffy pre-made evergreen wreath as the base to embellish with snipets of deluxe evergreens such as silver fir, western cedar, boxwood and arborvitae plus magnolia leaves, pinecones, berries (real and faux) and a bow. As this method of wreath making is done with paddle wire we can accommodate more participants in each session (18) - don't worry, lots of staff will be available to help you create a masterpiece! This wreath is best as Outdoor decor. The photo is illustrating an option, yours might be very different when complete - that's part of the fun! -

NEW! Gingerbread Duo has only one session and will be held on Sunday December 14, 3:00 p.m. This new workshop is perfect for an adult and child/teen (ages 6+ recommended) to do together. Two containers will be designed: a larger (14”) oval gingerbread themed tin pot and a smaller (6”) gingerbread pot. How fun! This indoor table centrepiece project will feature the fragrance of fresh evergreens and light florals, not sugar and spice - but will still be nice! Accents for both pots will include natural pinecones, dogwoods and playful gingerbread themed décor accents. It is suggested to come as a pair to complete the projects in the 1.25 hours allotted. If only one person comes, staff may assist with the second container. -
NEW SPRING WORKSHOP! Saturday March 21, 2:00 p.m. A beautiful 10” clear, high quality glass bowl will be the container to feature a special Spring plant (choices will include a pot of multiple hyacinth bulbs, a blooming hellebore perennial or elegant calla lily) wrapped in a moss covering (kokedama) along with other pre-sprouted bulbs, natural elements (twigs, pussy willows, pinecones, moss) and a Spring nest. We've added an opportunity to go back to basics and create a traditional outdoor evergreen arrangement in either a 12" round, fibre planter (works as an urn insert or stand-alone pot), 24" fibre window box /rectangular planter or 12" fibre hanging basket. Using a selection of fresh evergreens, participants will fill the planter of their choice (to choose upon arrival or make notation in NOTES section) with layers and layers for optimum fullness. Natural accents such as sedum, hydrangeas and pine cones will be offered, along with a visit to the "Accent Buffet" to choose up to 5 additional accents to make your arrangement truly unique and spectacular. -

Some Folks Come Every Year! Our popular "Winter Sleigh Ride" Workshop will be offered for those who already have the wooden sleigh and wish to "re-green it" and for those who are new to this project. Come one, come all! The wooden sleigh (about 30" long) is a sturdy construction and colour choices are natural and painted red and black. Participants will strap on a foam block and 'green it up" with boxwood, pine, cedar and silver fir evergreen snipets. A bow and accents decorate it to your personal style. This is an outdoor project; it can not remain indoors for more than 1-2 days (greens will dry out). The string allows it to be hung or it can lean against the wall/fence. All materials are included for new participants. Those returning who have the wooden sleigh from one of our previous workshops (see notes below) can bring it to re-do and pay a lower price for this experience.
