Perhaps the rosy red nose is from tobogganing fun, from Rudolph's guidance or from an adult's little "holiday tipple"? No matter the reason, ' tis the season for RED! Using a simple red plastic square pot, the kids will add floral foam and design an evergreen arrangement using fresh boughs of pine, cedar, silver fir and boxwood. Let's design a personalized evergreen wreath in a new, creative way! You will use a fluffy pre-made evergreen wreath as the base to embellish with snipets of deluxe evergreens such as silver fir, western cedar, boxwood and arborvitae plus magnolia leaves, pinecones, berries (real and faux) and a bow. As this method of wreath making is done with paddle wire we can accommodate more participants in each session (18) - don't worry, lots of staff will be available to help you create a masterpiece! This wreath is best as Outdoor Decor so it can fully hydrate in the cool, Winter air. The photo is illustrating an option, yours might be very different when complete - that's part of the fun! -

Back by popular demand! Winter Gnomes continue to be popular as fun outdoor decor. Using a metal frame, participants will create bundles of fresh evergreens that will attach to the frame, covering the body of the gnome. Layers and layers of evergreens will create a full body (no thin gnomes in this workshop!). A beard will be attached, using Silver Fir, and then his hat, nose and mittens will be affixed. Give your gnome a name before you leave - we'll help you come up with something clever! -

The Grinch is back! Attending this super popular workshop is tradition for many of you! We're happy to be back "grinching" it up with you again this year. This is a family friendly workshop, great for all ages, but most-enjoyed by ages 7/8-adult. Using a lovely 6" round tin container and fresh floral foam, participants will twist up a branch of "leyland cypress" or "carolina sapphire" so it bends like the last tree in a Who-ville home once the Grinch got his greedy hands on all of the goodies. Fresh evergreen boughs (boxwood, pine and cedar) will be added at the base, along with light fresh flowers and a final touch of an ornament on the tip of the main branch. Lots of colour choices will be offered. Whimsical and fun for the holidays! Photo is of a Grinch project from a previous year; 2026 project will feature a red tin pot. -
We've added an opportunity to go back to basics and create a traditional outdoor evergreen arrangement in either a 12" round, fibre planter (works as an urn insert or stand-alone pot), 24" fibre window box /rectangular planter or 12" fibre hanging basket. Using a selection of fresh evergreens, participants will fill the planter of their choice (to choose upon arrival or make notation in NOTES section) with layers and layers for optimum fullness. Natural accents such as sedum, hydrangeas and pine cones will be offered, along with a visit to the "Accent Buffet" to choose up to 5 additional accents to make your arrangement truly unique and spectacular. -
This is a workshop where you learn the techniques to create a fresh, different style of outdoor Winter planter: tree-top style. Participants will use a simple black pot (12" diametre) and pop in a 2-3 foot real evergreen tree (cut, not rooted) as the focal point. Then, layers of fresh evergreen boughs are added to the base of the planter to create a "skirt" that is lush and fragrant. To get more of a drape, deluxe greens like Silver Fir and BC Cedar are part of the offering, along with the freshly cut local greens. Natural accents such as dogwood, pinecones and magnolia leaves are offered along with items from our "Accent Buffet" to create your own, unique masterpiece. Note: this planter can be stand-alone or pop inside another, decorative pot (fits standard urns too). In this workshop you will make ONE planter; if you require a second one, our staff can gather up the materials for you to make another at home or why not register a friend to work alongside you? -
Here’s a Twist! We’ve fully changed-up design of our Light Up The Night Workshop this year (see “Light Up The Night 2026” option) but we wondered if all you folks who have the WOODEN LANTERN FROM A PREVIOUS GRIFFIN’S WORKSHOP would like to bring it along for a re-do? In this workshop we’ll provide a fresh plastic saucer bottom (for either style as they switched a few years ago) and floral foam plus we’ll instruct you in designing a lovely mixed evergreen arrangement that will sit in the base of your lantern. We’ll provide lots of lovely accents to decorate your arrangement, just like the OG Lantern Workshop from years gone-by. If your battery operated candle is in good shape still, bring it along to use as one is not included in this reduced fee workshop. We WILL have extras to purchase at $15.00 each if you require a new one (payable at the end of the workshop, at our cash station). -
Some Folks Come Every Year! Our popular "Winter Sleigh Ride" Workshop will be offered for those who already have the wooden sleigh and wish to "re-green it" and for those who are new to this project. Come one, come all! The natural wood sleigh (about 30" long) is a sturdy construction. Participants will strap on a foam block and 'green it up" with fresh boxwood, pine, cedar and silver fir evergreen snipets. A bow (lots of colour/design choices) and accents decorate it to your personal style. You will have access to our extensive accent buffet to make your personal decor choices. This is an outdoor project; it can not remain indoors for more than 1-2 days (greens will dry out). The string allows it to be hung or it can lean against the wall/fence. All materials are included for new participants. Those returning who have the wooden sleigh from one of our previous workshops (see notes below) can bring it to re-do and pay a lower price for this experience. -
OUR MOST POPULAR WORKSHOP! Due to overwhelming demand, two new sessions added: Sunday November 15, 3:00 p.m. and Friday November 27, 10:00 a.m. Our super-popular Evergreen Wreath Workshop is back! Join us to make a lovely 16-18" outdoor wreath on a metal frame (which you will not see when we're done). We offer an abundance of fresh evergreen snipets such as boxwood, oregonia (variegated boxwood), pine, various cedars and silver fir along with accents such as pinecones, blueberry cedar and rosehips. Participants will travel along this Evergreen Buffet to gather up "bundles" that our design team will help you "crimp" onto the frame. The result is a sturdy, lush, fragrant deluxe wreath that will last until about March on your door! This is a wreath for outdoor use; it uses the cold moisture in the air to maintain freshness. Positioned between two glass doors is not an adequate location to hang it; it is best fully exposed to the cold. -
