Big Bay Laurel, $40.00 What a find! Bay Laurel Plants (a herb that is used in cooking) are such a difficult-to-find plant for us to source, and we did it! AND the specimens we secured are BIG! Presenting in 7” pots, these herbs will be usable early in the season, and the aromatic leaves will keep producing all Summer. It is best to grow in a planter so you can bring this beauty indoors for Winter, keeping it for many years to come. FLOWERS AFTER HOURS: Fall Porch Pot Thursday September 10, 6:00 p.m. $60.00 + HST Join us for a unique opportunity to socialize and learn, all while creating a lovely planting project for your home. We'll begin the evening with time for after-hours shopping in the store, while sipping on a weekly signature mocktail and munching on a charcuterie cup from "The Cheesy Fromage". At 6:30 p.m. we'll begin our project in the dedicated workshop space in our climate controlled greenhouse environment. Our project this week is to create a Fall planter for your porch or to use as an urn insert. Our container will be a basic 12" round pot filled with appropriate container soil. Vikki, your host, introduce the plant choices, such as: mums, cabbage/kale, rudbeckia, asters, heather, pansies, grasses and other cold tolerant annuals. You will choose your favourite five to six Fall plants and design your planter with them, adding in moss to hide the soil and a few fun Fall decor picks. All materials are included. -

NEW for 2026! In an 8” round black, low profile ceramic dish planter, you will design a lovely arrangement of fresh mixed evergreen boughs. They will be drappy and light. Amid the arrangement will be a moss nest to sit a waxed amaryllis which will bloom in time for the holidays (fingers crossed, bloom timing is tricky). Accents will be added, such as pinecones, pods, faux berries and more to reflect your personal décor taste. This whole arrangement will then be set onto the metal tray of a 10” tall black metal tree form with star on top. So unique! So pretty! The metal tree frame will have lots of uses for you in the future! We will provide a full project photo once all of the materials arrive. -

NEW SPRING WORKSHOP - YOU CHOOSE YOUR STYLE! Thursday April 02, 6:00 p.m. or Saturday April 04, 10:00 a.m. A classic beige ceramic footed planter is the container in this unique workshop. It is 8" round and 5" tall - perfect for the centre of the Easter table or to give as a beautiful hostess gift. Your choice (upon registration) will be to make your design a planted one featuring potted plants such as calla lilies, ranunculus, ivy, ferns, spring bulbs and more or to make a fresh flower arrangement (in water) with an abundance of cut flower stems such as lisianthus, stocks, spray roses, eucalyptus and more. Your designers will be Vikki for the folks who decide to plant and a certified florist for those who decide to make a fresh arrangement. Both designs will be happening at the same time in each session - it will be fun watching each group be creative! Lots of colour choice for both styles will be offered as well as bonus accents like pussy willows, decorative moss (planted version) and seasonal decor picks. A NEW WORKSHOP! We’ve found a supplier to recreate the metal angel we made popular in our area in the 1990’s! This black metal three-dimensional angel frame stands 34” tall and has a ring at mid-height for a 10" pot to sit; our project is to design an evergreen arrangement in the accompanying pot that will become the focal point of this beautiful addition to your outdoor Winter décor. Amongst the mixed evergreens we’ll use, accents will be offered: pinecones, natural pods, faux berries and more. Your angel can be a feature this season and in other seasons too – how pretty will it be with the pot filled with pansies amid your tulips next Spring? A golden, round metal tray with four raised tealight stands is the elegant base for this indoor tabletop arrangement. In the middle of the tealight stands will be a small gold-toned pot that will be filled with fresh floral foam for participants to design with mixed evergreens that will arch out amongst and between the tealight stands. NEW Project for 2026! $100.00 + HST This is a fun alternative to an evergreen hanging basket! You will create a very unique hanging arrangement with a 14” foldable metal globe (with hanging chain) that will have a apparatus attached to the saucer allowing high quality mixed evergreens to be added, along with colourful natural accents. In the middle of all will be a battery operated RAINLITE candle that performs well (with a timer) in outdoor conditions – great value! This is an OUTDOOR project. We suggest that this arrangement will best hang in a sheltered space, like under a covered porch or awning. With the RAINLIGHT candle it can be exposed to elements, but it's not advised for it to be continually covered in snow, for your best enjoyment. Details will focus on the varieties of trees and shrubs that need to be pruned (specifically varieties to prune in Spring), when to do so, and how to do so. A brief discussion on rose pruning will also be included. A hand-out will be provided; taking additional notes is recommended. After a discussion of basics, the group will walk from the seated area to a few locations in our Display Garden (just steps away) where Jennifer will demonstrate the actions of pruning on species currently growing and in need of Spring pruning. Sunday November 29, 1:00 p.m. Using an elegant 9" round, gloss, low white ceramic container, you will nestle in a beautiful, potted, double spike white orchid. This will be your focal plant that will attract a lot of attention! Then, after adding regular indoor soil mix around the orchid (in it's specialized soil), 5-7 potted seasonal bloomers and foliages will be planted to create a fresh, elegant and long-lasting arrangement. In our workshop you will have lots of choice of high quality potted plants: cyclamen, poinsettia, cypress trees, frosty ferns, norfolk and stone pines, ivy, ferns, kalanchoe, small houseplants and more. The choice of container will be a rustic wooden crate (13x18x9H, natural tone) that participants fill with freshly cut mixed evergreens and accent with natural elements such as sedum, hydrangea and dogwood. A trip to the "Accent Buffet" will allow participants to choose three additional accents for personalization. Next, participants will design a door swag to match! NEW for 2025! This is an indoor potted plant workshop for folks who value houseplants they can grow on after the holidays. In a large 16” long rectangular natural wooden planter (with plastic liner), participants will plant seven seasonal bloomers. Choices will include: cyclamen, poinsettia, lemon cypress, winter berry, calandivia and frosty fern. Amid the arrangement will be a moss nest to sit a waxed amaryllis which will bloom in time for the holidays (fingers crossed, bloom timing is tricky). The final touch will be accents to finish the project to your personalized style, leaning a little to a country chic theme, with pinecones, natural pods and grapevine twists. Colour choices will be offered: white or red blooming amaryllis and then multiple colours of blooming seasonal plants. The sample photo is only one version. You will make your arrangement one-of-a-kind! NOTE as of November 29: We have changed the time of the November 30 session to 1 pm (instead of 10 am), due to forecasted snow in the morning. Amongst the 4-5 additional plants you choose from the offering will be a choice of 2-3 forest animal figurines to arrange in, along with pinecones to place and faux berries and other accents to add flourish.
