This is an indoor potted plant workshop for folks who value houseplants they can grow on after the holidays. In an 8” natural toned tin planter (with protective liner) participants will plant five seasonal bloomers. Choices will include: cyclamen, poinsettia, lemon cypress, lavender, rosemary, fluffy ferns, ivy, winter berry, calandivia and seasonal frosty fern. Accents to finish the project will be a wooden tree stake, a metal deer pick, birch and pine cones. Au Natural! -
NEW for 2026! In an 8” round black, low profile ceramic dish planter, you will design a lovely arrangement of fresh mixed evergreen boughs. They will be drappy and light. Amid the arrangement will be a moss nest to sit a waxed amaryllis which will bloom in time for the holidays (fingers crossed, bloom timing is tricky). Accents will be added, such as pinecones, pods, faux berries and more to reflect your personal décor taste. This whole arrangement will then be set onto the metal tray of a 10” tall black metal tree form with star on top. So unique! So pretty! The metal tree frame will have lots of uses for you in the future! We will provide a full project photo once all of the materials arrive. -
Sunday November 08, 10:00 a.m. A simple, tall, square plastic black pot (16”) will be filled full using a 3 foot cut evergreen top resembling a wee Christmas Tree (you can add lights to it when you get home), quality mixed evergreens (pine, BC Silver Fir and Cedar), magnolia, dried hydrangeas, one super-sized pine cone and metal stake to hang our new LED old-school lantern to guide friends and family to your porch. This will be a BIG feature in your outdoor Winter décor that will last throughout the Winter! Updated photo that includes the lantern (and not the cabin shown) will be posted soon. -

Saturday March 28, 1:00 p.m. Pantone has named Cloud Dancer as the Color of the Year for 2026. Described as a soft, airy, and billowy white, this shade is intended to offer a "whisper of calm" and a serene, neutral foundation to combat a chaotic world, emphasizing quiet reflection and intentional simplicity. Participants in this workshop will experience the calm in the creation of a beautiful white and green arrangement in a milky white 10” glass planter. A double stem orchid plant will be the feature and surrounding it will be a selection of white blooming accent plants and soft green foliage. A sweet "tweet" white ceramic bird figurine will be nestled amongst the plants, along with decorative moss. Beautiful! Do note that is workshop has been created in the spirit of the Colour of the Year, there will not be any traditionally “colourful” plants included in this workshop, only tones of white and green. This is an elegant planter for indoor decor, perhaps on a kitchen island or dining table. As always, care, advice and education will be discussed as the group works alongside your host, Vikki and the Design Team. -
NEW Workshop! Sunday November 29, 3:00 p.m. A 14” rustic wooden box will be our planter for this workshop that will feature 1-2 miniature evergreens planted directly in. Added will be choices of long-lasting houseplants and seasonal plants such as: peperomias, ferns, calandivias, poinsettias, cyclamen, wintergreen, cypress trees, rosemary (in tree form) and so much more. Amongst the 4-5 additional plants you choose from the offering will be a choice of 2-3 forest animal figurines to arrange in, along with pinecones to place and faux berries and other accents to add flourish. Very rustic and, as a planted indoor arrangement, one to last throughout the Winter bringing you joy from your forest friends. A photo of the full project to come soon. -
NEW Project for 2026! $100.00 + HST This is a fun alternative to an evergreen hanging basket! You will create a very unique hanging arrangement with a 14” foldable metal globe (with hanging chain) that will have a apparatus attached to the saucer allowing high quality mixed evergreens to be added, along with colourful natural accents. In the middle of all will be a battery operated RAINLITE candle that performs well (with a timer) in outdoor conditions – great value! This is an OUTDOOR project. We suggest that this arrangement will best hang in a sheltered space, like under a covered porch or awning. With the RAINLIGHT candle it can be exposed to elements, but it's not advised for it to be continually covered in snow, for your best enjoyment. Bonus: with the evergreens removed, this whole unit will look amazing in the Summer too! A better photo to come soon, when all materials are in-stock. -

A NEW WORKSHOP! We’ve found a supplier to recreate the metal angel we made popular in our area in the 1990’s! This black metal three-dimensional angel frame stands 34” tall and has a ring at mid-height for a 10" pot to sit; our project is to design an evergreen arrangement in the accompanying pot that will become the focal point of this beautiful addition to your outdoor Winter décor. Amongst the mixed evergreens we’ll use, accents will be offered: pinecones, natural pods, faux berries and more. Your angel can be a feature this season and in other seasons too – how pretty will it be with the pot filled with pansies amid your tulips next Spring? Don’t miss out – we have limited angels for this new design project! NOTE: Our project for this workshop will be larger than pictured. Full project photo to be posted when all materials are on-site. -
A NEW WORKSHOP! Let’s try a new design for this favourite workshop to create an illuminated table centrepiece! We’ll use a classic ceramic container prepped with fresh floral foam that participants will fill with fragrant, specialty, fresh mixed evergreens (pine, BC cedar, boxwood, variegated boxwood, fir), pine cones and light floral and dried accents . To light up the unit, a new LED old-school lantern will be added to the centre of the arrangement, sitting amid the greens. Colour choices of lantern and ceramic dish will be: red, white or black and, upon arrival you can decide your choices. All materials are included in this indoor arrangement workshop. Photo is of lanterns only; full workshop project pic coming soon! -
Here’s a Twist! We’ve fully changed-up design of our Light Up The Night Workshop this year (see “Light Up The Night 2026” option) but we wondered if all you folks who have the WOODEN LANTERN FROM A PREVIOUS GRIFFIN’S WORKSHOP would like to bring it along for a re-do? In this workshop we’ll provide a fresh plastic saucer bottom (for either style as they switched a few years ago) and floral foam plus we’ll instruct you in designing a lovely mixed evergreen arrangement that will sit in the base of your lantern. We’ll provide lots of lovely accents to decorate your arrangement, just like the OG Lantern Workshop from years gone-by. If your battery operated candle is in good shape still, bring it along to use as one is not included in this reduced fee workshop. We WILL have extras to purchase at $15.00 each if you require a new one (payable at the end of the workshop, at our cash station). -

A new design! In this workshop participants will make two moss kokedama balls with pre-sprouted mini daffodils, jute string, curly willow and other decorative and dried flower accompaniments. Each moss ball will sit on a simple clay saucer. They can be displayed together, or separately in your home. If you get excited and wish to make more, time allows for additional kokedama balls to be made in the workshop for $22.00 each, payable at the end of the session. While one of these sessions will be held during March school break, it is not recommended for young children. Appropriate ages for this workshop are 10-99 years. NOTE: Photo and project idea courtesy of Van H Acres, BC. While the concept is the same, the Griffin's version will be slightly different than pictured. -

Saturday March 14, 1:00 p.m. We will offer an assortment of three wood/metal designs as the planter of this value-priced workshop. Petite, these planters are perfect to sit on indoor side tables or kitchen islands, transferring to outdoor use on a small patio table, if you wish, for warmer days. Spring plant choices to fill each pot will include pre-sprouted bulbs, such as tulips, mini daffodils and hyacinths, small houseplants, ferns, ivy and accents such as pussy willows and moss. With registration, one wood and metal planter is included in the price of this workshop. You will choose your planter shape upon arrival; there will be lots of each choice. If you wish to create additional planters, you may pay $30.00 per (all materials included) during the workshop session. As always, care, advice and education will be discussed as the group works alongside your host, Vikki and the Design Team. -
Sunday November 15, 1:00 p.m. NEW! A 30” tall black metal scroll stand has a 12” round metal planter that settles in and that is the container for this workshop. It’s an elegant look and the accompanying arrangement you make will elevate that further! Amid the mixed greens we add in as a base, groupings of lush pinecones, pods, stumps of birch and faux berries will become the main feature. This will be a very accent heavy design, with the fresh evergreens as the accent, not the other way around, as we usually offer. We suggest this arrangement best to sit under a covered porch or awning area (outdoors), therefore snow cover hiding the beautiful accents will not be a worry. This is an OUTDOOR Arrangement and not suited to indoor decor. Photo of completed arrangement to be posted soon. -
Let's design a personalized evergreen wreath in a new, creative way! You will use a fluffy pre-made evergreen wreath as the base to embellish with snipets of deluxe evergreens such as silver fir, western cedar, boxwood and arborvitae plus magnolia leaves, pinecones, berries (real and faux) and a bow. As this method of wreath making is done with paddle wire we can accommodate more participants in each session (18) - don't worry, lots of staff will be available to help you create a masterpiece! This wreath is best as Outdoor Decor so it can fully hydrate in the cool, Winter air. The photo is illustrating an option, yours might be very different when complete - that's part of the fun! -
NEW! We sourced a 9” tall classic metal table top urn with a white vintage patina and thought how pretty it would be with mixed evergreens and natural accents. A new workshop idea was born! In this workshop we will offer an option of adding a simple white taper candle or a decorative element as the focal point and then build around it with fresh, fragrant evergreens such as white pine, BC Cedar, boxwood and aborvitea. An array of accents will be offered so each arrangement is unique to your style. With good watering, this fresh evergreen arrangement will last well into the new year. A full photo of the project will be posted once all materials arrive. -
Some Folks Come Every Year! Our popular "Winter Sleigh Ride" Workshop will be offered for those who already have the wooden sleigh and wish to "re-green it" and for those who are new to this project. Come one, come all! The natural wood sleigh (about 30" long) is a sturdy construction. Participants will strap on a foam block and 'green it up" with fresh boxwood, pine, cedar and silver fir evergreen snipets. A bow (lots of colour/design choices) and accents decorate it to your personal style. You will have access to our extensive accent buffet to make your personal decor choices. This is an outdoor project; it can not remain indoors for more than 1-2 days (greens will dry out). The string allows it to be hung or it can lean against the wall/fence. All materials are included for new participants. Those returning who have the wooden sleigh from one of our previous workshops (see notes below) can bring it to re-do and pay a lower price for this experience. -

NEW SPRING WORKSHOP - YOU CHOOSE YOUR STYLE! Thursday April 02, 6:00 p.m. or Saturday April 04, 10:00 a.m. A classic beige ceramic footed planter is the container in this unique workshop. It is 8" round and 5" tall - perfect for the centre of the Easter table or to give as a beautiful hostess gift. Your choice (upon registration) will be to make your design a planted one featuring potted plants such as calla lilies, ranunculus, ivy, ferns, spring bulbs and more or to make a fresh flower arrangement (in water) with an abundance of cut flower stems such as lisianthus, stocks, spray roses, eucalyptus and more. Your designers will be Vikki for the folks who decide to plant and a certified florist for those who decide to make a fresh arrangement. Both designs will be happening at the same time in each session - it will be fun watching each group be creative! Lots of colour choice for both styles will be offered as well as bonus accents like pussy willows, decorative moss (planted version) and seasonal decor picks. Photos here show inspiration for both projects; plants and cut flowers may be slightly different. Be assured, your arrangements will be beautiful! -

Fall Planter: City House/Country House Sunday September 14, 11:00 a.m. $80.00 + HST You decide the style of outdoor patio planter that suits your home – and then we’ll plant it together! What will look best: a 16” silver tin planter (city) or an 18” plastic wood-look barrel (country)? After a discussion of plant choices, participants will fill their pot with fresh potting soil and choose their favourite seven to eight fall-themed annuals to plant in the container. Choices will include: mums, ornamental grasses, kale and cabbage, rudbeckia, celosia, asters, fall pansies, calluna (heather) and more. Our staff will help you design the best look for your project! A fun decorative pick will complete the project. Please register for the style of planter you like best: city or country. The workshop price for both is the same. -
OUR MOST POPULAR WORKSHOP! Due to overwhelming demand, two new sessions added: Sunday November 15, 3:00 p.m. and Friday November 27, 10:00 a.m. Our super-popular Evergreen Wreath Workshop is back! Join us to make a lovely 16-18" outdoor wreath on a metal frame (which you will not see when we're done). We offer an abundance of fresh evergreen snipets such as boxwood, oregonia (variegated boxwood), pine, various cedars and silver fir along with accents such as pinecones, blueberry cedar and rosehips. Participants will travel along this Evergreen Buffet to gather up "bundles" that our design team will help you "crimp" onto the frame. The result is a sturdy, lush, fragrant deluxe wreath that will last until about March on your door! This is a wreath for outdoor use; it uses the cold moisture in the air to maintain freshness. Positioned between two glass doors is not an adequate location to hang it; it is best fully exposed to the cold. -
This is a workshop where you learn the techniques to create a fresh, different style of outdoor Winter planter: tree-top style. Participants will use a simple black pot (12" diametre) and pop in a 2-3 foot real evergreen tree (cut, not rooted) as the focal point. Then, layers of fresh evergreen boughs are added to the base of the planter to create a "skirt" that is lush and fragrant. To get more of a drape, deluxe greens like Silver Fir and BC Cedar are part of the offering, along with the freshly cut local greens. Natural accents such as dogwood, pinecones and magnolia leaves are offered along with items from our "Accent Buffet" to create your own, unique masterpiece. Note: this planter can be stand-alone or pop inside another, decorative pot (fits standard urns too). In this workshop you will make ONE planter; if you require a second one, our staff can gather up the materials for you to make another at home or why not register a friend to work alongside you? -
Sunday November 29, 1:00 p.m. Using an elegant 9" round, gloss, low white ceramic container, you will nestle in a beautiful, potted, double spike white orchid. This will be your focal plant that will attract a lot of attention! Then, after adding regular indoor soil mix around the orchid (in it's specialized soil), 5-7 potted seasonal bloomers and foliages will be planted to create a fresh, elegant and long-lasting arrangement. In our workshop you will have lots of choice of high quality potted plants: cyclamen, poinsettia, cypress trees, frosty ferns, norfolk and stone pines, ivy, ferns, kalanchoe, small houseplants and more. Further accents, like moss, pinecones, willow and dogwood will be incorporated for a unique indoor design. Classic and beautiful! -

Friday March 13, 1:00 p.m. Bring a friend or student who is off on this Friday PD Day to our fun workshop where two projects are made. This workshop is appropriate for anyone 5-99 years old! Only you? No problem, you can do both projects and we can help if you require assistance. In the theme of Spring participants will fill these two tin planters (one is a watering can, the other an oval) with a selection of pre-sprouted bulbs such as tulips, daffodils or hyacinths, small ferns and houseplants along with accents of pussy willows and moss. These planters are for indoor decor now, but could be redesigned for outdoor use once the weather warms up. As always, care, advice and education will be discussed as the group works alongside your host, Vikki and the Design Team. -
The Grinch is back! Attending this super popular workshop is tradition for many of you! We're happy to be back "grinching" it up with you again this year. This is a family friendly workshop, great for all ages, but most-enjoyed by ages 7/8-adult. Using a lovely 6" round tin container and fresh floral foam, participants will twist up a branch of "leyland cypress" or "carolina sapphire" so it bends like the last tree in a Who-ville home once the Grinch got his greedy hands on all of the goodies. Fresh evergreen boughs (boxwood, pine and cedar) will be added at the base, along with light fresh flowers and a final touch of an ornament on the tip of the main branch. Lots of colour choices will be offered. Whimsical and fun for the holidays! Photo is of a Grinch project from a previous year; 2026 project will feature a red tin pot. -
We've added an opportunity to go back to basics and create a traditional outdoor evergreen arrangement in either a 12" round, fibre planter (works as an urn insert or stand-alone pot), 24" fibre window box /rectangular planter or 12" fibre hanging basket. Using a selection of fresh evergreens, participants will fill the planter of their choice (to choose upon arrival or make notation in NOTES section) with layers and layers for optimum fullness. Natural accents such as sedum, hydrangeas and pine cones will be offered, along with a visit to the "Accent Buffet" to choose up to 5 additional accents to make your arrangement truly unique and spectacular. -

The birdnest, nestled with a few faux eggs and birdies, will tuck in for a magical Springtime design!
