Participants will use a simple, black classic pot filled with fresh potting soil and design a beautiful arrangement using 5-7 Fall-inspired annuals. Choices will be plentiful and include: ornamental grasses, rudbeckia, mums, asters, ornamental kale/cabbage, ivy, croton, celosia, sedum and more. The first hour of this hands-on workshop will be working with Jessica to create a willow woven obelisk that will sit on the rim of a country/modern chic square planter consisting of black metal and reclaimed wood. While learning weaving techniques she will also guide you to make a small willow birdnest. Next, Vikki will take over and guide participants in planting a Spring arrangement full of ranunculus, pre-sprouted hyacinths, daffodils, tulips, fluffy ferns, trailing ivy, blooming calandivia, pussy willows and foliage fillers. The birdnest, nestled with a few faux eggs and birdies, will tuck in for a magical Springtime design! Total height of the planter is 22”; the wooden planting vessel can be separated from the metal base to be used as a tabletop planter or the whole unit can styled as a compliment to your furniture. In Spring coloured wax (pink, mauve, yellow) the pre-sprouted stem will open to a white or pink blooming Amarylis, usually within the month of being exposed to light and warmth. What a joy to watch Amaryllis blooms open in the Spring-time! The container for this design will be a 8” wicker “nest” and will include three foliage or blooming plants, along with your choice of high-value, pre-sprouted waxed Amaryllis. Decorative mosses (to nestle the waxed Amaryllis), pussy willows and curly willow and a cute bird will complete the project. The Grinch is back! Attending this super popular workshop is tradition for many of you! We're happy to be back "grinching" it up with you again this year. This is a family friendly workshop, great for all ages, but most-enjoyed by ages 7/8-adult. Using a lovely 6" round tin container and fresh floral foam, participants will twist up a branch of "leyland cypress" so it bends like the last tree in a Who-ville home once the Grinch got his greedy hands on all of the goodies. Fresh evergreen boughs (boxwood, pine and cedar) will be added at the base, along with light fresh flowers and a final touch of an ornament on the tip of the main branch. A FAVOURITE WORKSHOP! A hexagonal 16" tall rustic wooden lantern is this container for this workshop and is offered in ivory or black. Whether you are a returning participant, with previous year's style to re-do, or a new participant who will receive a new lantern, all will be have furniture safe floral dish sitting on the base of the lantern (with fresh floral foam). It will be filled with a fragrant mixed evergreens, pine cones and light floral accents. If the session is in late November, fresh florals will not be used and extra dried accents will decorate the arrangement. The greenery will spill out of the sides of the lantern and gently lay on the table around it. To light up the unit, a beautiful battery-operated LUXE candle will be added. We've added an opportunity to go back to basics and create a traditional outdoor evergreen arrangement in either a 12" round, fibre planter (works as an urn insert or stand-alone pot), 24" fibre window box /rectangular planter or 12" fibre hanging basket. Using a selection of fresh evergreens, participants will fill the planter of their choice (to choose upon arrival or make notation in NOTES section) with layers and layers for optimum fullness. Returning for 2024! You’ll make a hoop-la in your neighbourhood when you hang this unique Winter decoration. The large 36” black metal hoop has a middle hook to hang a 14" moss hanging basket that will be generously filled and designed with drapy mixed evergreens and pinecone accents. Choices to add a small embellishment to the top of the hoop will be offered: bows or elegant evergreens and accents.
