Saturday March 29, 1:00 p.m. Note: CANCELLED due to poor weather; RESCHEDULED to Sunday April 06, 1 pm A gorgeous teal metal coal bucket planter is the container to fill with beautiful Spring plants. The unit is 13" oblong and a perfect as a country-inspired outdoor arrangement. It will be fantastic on your porch steps or small bistro table. Caution will be required in the early days and this arrangement will need to come in on nights where temperature is below minus 1 or 2 degrees; otherwise, it will love the cool temps outdoors throughout April. Each participant will choose six seasonal Spring plants from a selection including pre-sprouted tulips, mini daffodils, hyacinths and muscari along with ranunculus, primula and pansies. Mosses, sticks, pussy willows and accents will be offered to complete the planter. As always, care, advice and education will be discussed as the group works alongside your host, Vikki and the Design Team. It is watertight so the written DIY instructions will guide you in adding in a block of fresh floral foam, mixed evergreens (pine, boxwood and BC cedar). You will add a battery operated ivory pillar candle (batteries included) and a 6” woodland gnome holding a bottlebrush tree. This will be the focal point of your arrangement; accents will include short dogwood sticks and pinecones. Complimenting this muted pallet will be several stems of blue-green dried eucalyptus with instructions on how to scatter it throughout the arrangement for textural interest and remarkable fragrance. The instructions will guide you on how to care for this arrangement so it lasts well into January. NEW SPRING WORKSHOP for EASTER DECOR! Friday, April 18, 11:00 a.m. (Good Friday Holiday) Let’s make a fresh potted table arrangement for Easter! Using an 8" square wooden box with a metal handle, we’ll plant a collection of approximately seven Spring bloomers and/or fresh green houseplants. Choices will include: sprouted Spring bulbs (tulips, mini daffodils, hyacinth, muscari), primula, ranunculus, pansies, ferns, ivy, and polka-dots. An option to add a mini orchid will be offered (an add-on, payable at the workshop, if you decide to add it). Decorative moss, décor picks, a bow for the handle, Easter eggs and pussy willows will complete your project. Choice of colours and plants will ensure your creation is very unique - unique to you! Once planted, we will choose fresh cut flowers in an Easter/pastel colour scheme (ranunculus, lisianthus, eucalytpus, waxflower) and put stems into water picks to slide amongst the potted plants - they will last throughout the holiday, and then after removed, the green plants will live on! Mosses, sticks, pussy willows and Easter-themed accents will be offered to complete this gorgeous planter. The first hour of this hands-on workshop will be working with Jessica to create a willow woven obelisk that will sit on the rim of a country/modern chic square planter consisting of black metal and reclaimed wood. While learning weaving techniques she will also guide you to make a small willow birdnest. Next, Vikki will take over and guide participants in planting a Spring arrangement full of ranunculus, pre-sprouted hyacinths, daffodils, tulips, fluffy ferns, trailing ivy, blooming calandivia, pussy willows and foliage fillers. The birdnest, nestled with a few faux eggs and birdies, will tuck in for a magical Springtime design! It will be filled with snipets of mixed evergreens so it resembles a hideaway you’d happen upon deep in the forest. Dogwood, pinecones, light floral accents and a woodland animal friend will complete the project. This arrangement is to remain indoors and, by keeping the floral foam moist, will last over a month! The large 36” black metal hoop has a middle hook to hang a 14" moss hanging basket that will be generously filled and designed with drapy mixed evergreens and pinecone accents. Choices to add a small embellishment to the top of the hoop will be offered: bows or elegant evergreens and accents. This lovely 8" cement planter with etched cardinals will be filled with mixed fresh evergreens in floral foam, for freshness and longevity, plus fanciful dogwood, pine cones and light floral accents. Nestled amongst the greens will be a live waxed red amaryllis that will grow throughout the month, hopefully bursting open for the holiday (plants will be plants...) Of course, red cardinals will be clipped to the dogwood branches, to complete the arrangement. Once the greenery arrives, a photo of the completed project will be posted.

Out of stockNEW LANTERN DESIGN FOR 2024! Our popular workshop is back, with a slight variation: a new lantern design! This year the wooden lantern is hexagonal in shape, 16" (same size as 2023 version) and will be offered in ivory only. It's a nice, new design! Whether you are a returning participant, with last year's style to re-do, or a new participant who will receive the new style of lantern, all will be have furniture safe floral dish sitting on the base of the lantern (with fresh floral foam). It will be filled with a fragrant mixed evergreens, pine cones and light floral accents. The greenery will spill out of the sides of the lantern and gently lay on the table around it. To light up the unit, a beautiful battery-operated LUXE candle will be added. All materials are included. If you are bring your lantern from the 2023 workshop, please choose the BYOL (Bring Your Own Lantern) registration under each date. Using a metal frame, participants will create bundles of fresh evergreens that will attach to the frame, covering the body of the gnome. Layers and layers of evergreens will create a full body (no thin gnomes in this workshop!). A beard will be attached, using Silver Fir, and then his hat, nose and mittens will be affixed. Give your gnome a name before you leave - we'll help you come up with something clever!

Out of stockThis is a workshop where you learn the techniques to create a fresh, new style of outdoor Winter planter: tree-top style. Participants will use a simple black pot (12" diametre) and pop in a 2-3 foot real evergreen tree (cut, not rooted) as the focal point. Then, layers of fresh evergreen boughs are added to the base of the planter to create a "skirt" that is lush and fragrant. Natural accents such as dogwood, pinecones and magnolia leaves are offered along with items from our "Accent Buffet" to create your own, unique masterpiece. Note: this planter can be stand-alone or pop inside another, decorative pot (fits standard urns too). In this workshop you will make ONE planter; if you require a second one, our staff can gather up the materials for you to make another at home or why not register a friend to work alongside you?

We offer an abundance of fresh evergreen snipets such as boxwood, oregonia (variegated boxwood), pine, various cedars and silver fir along with accents such as pinecones, blueberry cedar and rosehips. Participants will travel along this Evergreen Buffet to gather up "bundles" that our design team will help you "crimp" onto the frame. The result is a sturdy, lush, fragrant deluxe wreath that will last until about March on your door! This is a wreath for outdoor use. NEW for 2024: accent add-ons will be available for purchase: magnolia leaves, bows, bottle-brush trees, metal accents and more. Add-on costs can be paid at the end of the workshop. Out of stockIt's back! Our popular "Winter Sleigh Ride" Workshop will be offered for those who already have the wooden sleigh and wish to "re-green it" and for those who are new to this project. Come one, come all! NEW DATE ADDED: Saturday November 30, 1:00 p.m. The wooden sleigh (about 30" long) is a sturdy construction and colour choices are natural and painted red and black. Participants will strap on a foam block and 'green it up" with boxwood, pine, cedar and silver fir evergreen snipets. A bow and accents decorate it to your personal style. This is an outdoor project; it can not remain indoors for more than 1-2 days (greens will dry out). The string allows it to be hung or it can lean against the wall/fence. All materials are included for new participants. Those returning who have the wooden sleigh from one of our previous workshops (see notes below) can bring it to re-do and pay a lower price for this experience.
